Autosuggestion is an element of the complex system which connects the conscious mind with the subconscious mind. It is the cerberus of the human mind. It is the honorable guardian that protects the gates to our metaphysical world as individuals. It is whom decides which thoughts and ideas are welcome, or not, into our subconcious minds. This 'whom' is controlled by us. In fact, it is us, we are our own guardians of our subconcious mind. I learned this concept of 'Autosuggestion' from Napoleon Hill's 'Think and Grow Rich'.

'The manner in which we behave, is a direct representation of our inside world'. This statement bears only truth within it. The power of autosuggestion comes from taking active participation in deciding which thoughts we'd like to cultivate in the orchard of our minds. In other words, autosuggestion is the element that we are able to utilize, to permit which ideas, thoughts and intentions come from and towards our subconcious mind. The subconcious connects directly with the concious, therefore, positive ideas planted in the subconcious, will find ways to act out in the physical world via our concious mind. Same goes for the negative, however, it must be our goal to plant as many positive thoughts in our subconcious mind as we can. This idea has been portrayed by many writers, philosophers, and great thinkers. An example, Descartes, who's famous statement 'I think, therefore I am', is rooted in autosuggestion.

What you think, is what you are and do. Thus, it's what you will become. Think wisely.

Have you ever thought about how easy is it to succumb into thinking negatively? To stress out and believe the worst is bound to happen? Instilling positive ideas into our minds, can and will always make the difference when we are looking to change the outcomes we have produced in our lives.

Change is imminent when you apply autosuggestion. No, miracles won't happen. Nonetheless, once you commence to apply autosuggestion with positive intentions, little, but soon large, changes will be catalyzed by your subconcious mind. It mind sound vague, too optimistic, delusional, whatever you might call it. However, planting positive ideas with the help of autosuggestion in our minds, does not mean we ignore the negative. Contrarily, it is about accepting the negative, and converting it into something positive, let that be in the short, or longer term. Remember, everything isn't as bad, or as good, as it may seem in the present moment. Autosuggestion with positive intentions, obligates us to view things with a bigger perspective, and to take positive action in our lives.

How to apply autosuggestion with positive intent? Well, there are many ways, but before we get into that, we must know two things. Autosuggestion works because of two things. Guidance of a definite purpose, and repetition of belief.

  1. Guidance From A Definite Purpose: Once we define a purpose in our lives, we are able to align our mind, body and soul with that purpose. Doing everything in our power to fulfill it, we will find ourselves guided, by our own ideas, which are conceived via autosuggestion in our subconcious, which inevitably will find the way to express our ideas in the physical world. Ask yourself what purpose resides in your soul. It might take minutes, hours, weeks, years, decades for you to discover what that might be.
  2. Repetition Of Belief: Once you believe in something, repeat it, every single day in your mind or out loud. Repetition is key for autosuggestion, so your subconcious mind adapts to this new belief system you are imposing it. Repeating to yourself something that you believe in is how you stay on track to convert your ideas into reality, as you will become determined to find ways to make it happen.

Now that we know how autosuggestion works. I'll give you 3 ways, which I apply, to keep my autosuggestion on track to convert my ideas into their physical representation.

  1. Write And Re-read: Adapting autosuggestion to summon a path towards a definite purpose, can be done through writing. Take a journal, a piece of paper, a wall (I write on my walls too), so you can then write your purpose. Put a date on it and sign it. In the text, explicitly mention how you will achieve this purpose, and why you believe you will fulfill it. After you're done, re-read it. The next day, read it again. Two days after, read it again. And again. And again. And again. Our subconcious mind adapts itself by repetition.
  2. Consume Healthier Content: It is easy to slide through social media platforms, books, music, videos, consuming content from anyone. I'd recommend to actively choose what you want to observe on the internet. Follow those who produce content that supports your path towards your purpose, let it be a fitness figure that teaches you how to stay physically healthy, pyshcologists that post interesting ideas about behavioural patterns, authors that publish snippets of productive books, musicians that make music that speaks to your heart, etc. Establish what content to intake, utilize the internet to your advantage and the stream of information you digest will now help you to learn, grow, and adopt new benefitial things to your daily life. Hence, supporting you to fulfill your purpose.
  3. Create Time For You: Autosuggestion relies on the guidance of our purpose and the repetition of our beliefs. To maintain those 2 core factors, spending time with yourself is mandatory. Alone time can be created by going to the gym on your own, going for a walk on your own, meditating on your own...Doing things on our own at least once a day, can give us a moment to enter our minds and inspect the orchard we are cultivating. Evaluating our progress towards our purpose, and reminding ourselves of what that purpose looks like in the future, is extremely important. Remember: Think, and therefore you are.

I hope this article helps you define your purpose, cultivate positive thoughts in your mind so they align with it, and take proper action towards accomplishment. Good luck.
